British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated Wedesday that a temporary halt to hostilities in the Gaza Strip, followed by a resumption of fighting and failure to release captives, would not benefit anyone.

Sunak emphasized the aim for a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and the necessity to exert all efforts to provide assistance.

He further outlined the goal of achieving a permanent cessation of hostilities, starting with a humanitarian ceasefire enabling the release of captives and the delivery of aid.

Sunak pointed out the suffering of Gaza's residents and urged everyone to make every effort to deliver the aid they need, leveraging the momentum from this ongoing crisis in Gaza to put an end to the war on the basis of a two-state solution.
