A United States military drone crashed north of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, as announced by a US official.

The official stated that an American drone "crashed near Balad Air Base in Iraq," as reported by AFP.

The Iraqi security forces successfully retrieved the drone, and there are no reports of injuries. An investigation into the incident has been initiated. The Iraqi resistance announced that it targeted an American MQ-9 Reaper drone belonging to US forces.
