“Hamas still has significant force posture inside Gaza”: Kirby

John Kirby, the spokesperson for the National Security Council at the White House, stated that Hamas still possesses significant military capabilities within Gaza even after 90 days of the Israeli occupation's aggression against the Strip, but has casted doubts on whether the Israeli Occupation can completely root out Hamas.

“We believe that reducing and destroying Hamas's ability to carry out attacks inside the occupied territories is an objective that forces in Tel Aviv can achieve,” Kirby added, affirming that the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) is is capable of eliminating the threat posed by Hamas to settlers

“Will [Hamas’] ideology be eliminated? No. Is there a possibility of eliminating the group? Probably not.”

"I have estimates that I do not want to delve into details, but Hamas still possesses significant capabilities in Gaza,” Kirby answered, in response to a question about the number of Hamas members and capabilities that the IOF seeks to eliminate.

Kirby emphasized that Hamas is not merely a group but an organized entity like an army.

"However, the Israelis have had an impact on Hamas's ability to lead and organize (its capabilities) and frankly, on the leadership of its forces," he stated.
