Cabinet appoints new Legislation, Opinion Bureau President

On Wednesday, the Cabinet decided to retire the President of the Legislation and Opinion Bureau, Qassem Abdu, based on his request, and appointed Dr. Fayyad Al-Qudah as his successor.

Al-Qudah was born in 1960, in Al-Muwaqqar in Amman.

Al-Qudah has numerous academic qualifications, having earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) with honors from the University of Jordan (UJ). He also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) with distinction, ranking first in his class, from the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. Subsequently, he obtained his Ph.D. from the same university.

He has had a distinguished career, serving as a research and teaching assistant at the Faculty of Law at UJ. He worked as a lecturer in commercial law at the University of Edinburgh and held a part-time lecturer position in law at the Faculty of Law at UJ.

In addition, he served as an Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Administrative Affairs at the Faculty of Law at UJ, and as the Head of the Private Law Department at the Faculty of Law on multiple occasions. He also worked as a Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law at the university and an Associate Professor in Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law.

Furthermore, he worked as a legal advisor to the Executive Unit of the Prosecutor General at the Prime Ministry, a legal advisor to the Executive Authority of the Prosecutor General, a legal advisor and lawyer for UJ, a legal advisor and lawyer for the Jordan University of Science and Technology, a legal advisor and lawyer for King Abdullah University Hospital. He also served as a board member of the Judicial Institute under the Ministry of Justice and a trustee of the Arab Academy for Financial and Banking Sciences.
