The Director of Operations and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Dr. Sufian Al-Qudah, stated that the Embassy of Jordan in Beijing has been in contact with the Chinese authorities to confirm the safety of the Jordanian expats in the Gansu province of China, which was struck by an earthquake Monday.

Al-Qudah stated that the Jordanian Embassy in Beijing is in communication with one Jordanian citizen residing in the earthquake-affected area, registered with the embassy.

The lone citizen is reported to be in good health and has not suffered any harm due to the earthquake.

He added that the Chinese authorities confirmed to the embassy that there are no Jordanians among the recorded injuries resulting from the earthquake.
