King Abdullah II stated that everyone is paying the price for the absence of a political solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive regional security framework based on resolving the Palestinian issue.

During a meeting in Brussels with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg and members of the North Atlantic Council, King Abdullah II highlighted the importance of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the protection of civilians.

He also stressed the necessity to think about the post-war phase and work towards a comprehensive resolution of the conflict based on a two-state solution.

His Majesty emphasized the importance of stopping settler attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank and warned of the potential escalation of tensions in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

NATO Secretary-General and members of the North Atlantic Council, representing member states of the alliance, cautioned against the worsening situation and the potential spread of the crisis to the West Bank and the Noble Sanctuary of Jerusalem.

They expressed concern over the rising number of civilian casualties and affirmed the importance of Israel's compliance with international law, which requires the protection of civilians.

They also called for an urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, warning that famine threatens civilians and that patients and the wounded in hospitals face the risk of death.

They urged against framing the conflict as an East-West dispute, emphasizing the importance of finding a political solution based on a two-state solution.

The NATO Secretary-General and members of the council acknowledged Jordan's leadership, under the guidance of King Abdullah II, in working towards peace in the region and protecting and caring for the sanctities in Jerusalem, in addition to its humanitarian role.

The partnership between Jordan and NATO, as well as ways to enhance cooperation and capacity-building between the two sides, were also discussed in the meeting.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, King's Office Director Jaafar Hassan, and Jordan's Ambassador in Brussels Sajida Al-Majali.
