According to the New York Times, an Israeli Occupation military official predicted that Hamas would release around 50 dual-nationality captives.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) stated that there are 222 captives held by Hamas in Gaza, including foreign nationals.

Hamas affirmed earlier that it is working with all mediators to implement the movement's decision to address and resolve the issue of civilians, provided that the appropriate security conditions are met.

In an earlier statement, Hamas stated, "As part of its commitment with all mediators, especially our brothers in Egypt, Qatar, and other sisterly and friendly countries, today in Gaza, a woman and her daughter holding American nationality were handed over, in cooperation with the sisterly state of Qatar."
