Daughter kills father in Egypt

An Egyptian teenage girl, 15, killed her father in Atfih, Giza Governorate, according to reports from local media.

The girl intentionally released gas from a cylinder, and when her father lit a cigarette, a fire ignited resulting in his death. She reportedly fled the scene after her father caught fire.

After conducting investigations, authorities continued to search for the perpetrator, suspecting criminal motives behind the incident.

During the course of the investigation, the girl confessed that she had ignited the fire to harm her father, who was struggling with substance abuse. She shared that she was living alone with him after her parents' separation, and that her mother had suffered from his repeated physical abuse.
