The Rusaifa District in Zarqa witnessed strong winds that led to the toppling of electricity poles and trees in various areas Monday.

The impact of these powerful winds resulted in the collapse of several lighting poles and trees along Yajouz Road.

These incidents caused minor material damage, as stated by Halaf Bani Khalid, the governor of Rusaifa. He confirmed that the brigade was affected by intense winds and heavy dust, leading to the fall of lighting poles and trees.

This weather phenomenon persisted for approximately fifteen minutes, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. He continued by highlighting that the harsh weather conditions also affected parked vehicles alongside the roads.

In response, teams from the Civil Defense  Directorate, along with security and municipal authorities, collaborated with relevant agencies to clear obstacles from public thoroughfares.

The electricity company was equally involved in efforts to rectify the damaged electric poles and reinstate the power supply to the impacted areas.
