Over 1,600 people explore local tourism with 'Ordonna Jannah' on second, third days of Eid

Local tourism through the 'Ordonna Jannah' program is witnessing a wide turnout during the Eid al-Adha holiday, according to the director of the program Hisham Shakhatra.

Friday, 919 people on board of 23 buses headed to the Golden Triangle region (Petra, Wadi Rum and Aqaba) as well as northern regions (Jerash and Ajloun), he told Roya.

Thursday, 688 people boarded 17 buses heading to the same destinations, he added.

Earlier, the vice president of the Jordan Hotels Association Hussein Hilalat said that hotel occupancy rates were on the rise during the Eid holiday.

The occupancy rate stood at 80 percent in Aqaba, 62 percent in Amman, 69 percent in the Dead Sea and 34 percent in percent in Petra.
