Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won the presidential elections in Turkey.

Earlier, preliminary results indicated that the Turkish President's progress in the second round of the presidential elections, after counting over 96 percent of the ballots.

Erdogan, who has been in power for twenty years, had received 52.91 percent of the votes so far, compared to 47.09 percent for his rival, Kamal Kilicdaroglu, according to these partial results.

In the first round held on May 14, Erdogan, 69 , received 49.5 percent of the votes, while his opponent garnered 44.9 percent.
