A total of 12 people were injured after a cargo pickup truck and a freight vehicle collided on Desert Highway, according to the Central Traffic Department Tuesday.

The department told Amen FM that all those who were injured were transported to a nearby hospital to receive the necessary medical treatment.

The spokesperson noted that their staff is currently working on removing obstacles, which partially blocked the road causing a traffic jam.

Notably, the department also responded to a six-vehicle pileup on the highway between Amman and Zarqa, which resulted in a number of injuries.

The accidents have been attributed to weather instability and the high water levels due to rain.

The Director of Public Security called on citizens and residents to drive with caution during the current weather conditions.
