Thursday, the Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the firing of rockets and the use of Lebanese territory to carry out operations that "destabilize the existing stability."

Miqati affirmed his country's rejection of any military escalation emanating from Lebanese territory.

He stressed that the army and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) forces are intensifying their investigations to uncover the circumstances of the operation and arrest the perpetrators.

Earlier, Lebanese media reported today that UNIFIL forces had evacuated their positions near the Israeli Occupation border.

UNIFIL said that the head of the mission is still in contact with all parties, and we urge calm during this sensitive time.
