Sunday, two children drowned in the King Abdullah Canal in Irbid.

The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said specialized diving teams from the Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) west of Irbid retrieved the bodies of two children after they were drowned in the Canal.

The bodies were transported to the Abu Obeida Governmental Hospital.

The PSD stressed that swimming in such places is dangerous as they are not intended for swimming.

They called on citizens to keep an eye on children and keep them away from playing near canals and dams.
