A total of 562 people died as a result of 170,000 traffic accidents in Jordan in 2022, according to the Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya.
This came on Thursday during the opening of a workshop aimed at raising awareness and the implementation of a traffic safety law.
Faraya said that accidents in Jordan increased in comparison to 2021, when 160,000 accidents were recorded.
He added that the number of deaths due to traffic accidents in 2022 decreased compared to 2021, as 589 deaths were recorded.
He also pointed out that the Ministry of Interior, through the Public Security Directorate, was the first to spread awareness regarding traffic laws and safety.
