At least ten people were killed and 25 others injured Friday, when a bus fell off a cliff in northeastern Algeria, according to authorities.

The bus was headed to the resort of Tikjda when it fell off a cliff 150 meters deep.

The mountainous region of Tikjda is a ski resort frequently visited by Algerians, especially after heavy snowfall in recent weeks.

In 2021, Algeria recorded about 7,186 traffic accidents, leaving 2,643 dead and 11,479 injured.
