A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck central Italy, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
The earthquake occurred at 16:05 Thursday afternoon, at a depth of 2 km, 30 km northwest of Perugia, the capital of the Umbria region.
The Italian authorities did not announce any casualties or material damage as a result of the earthquake, which was felt by residents of more than one province.
