Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is seeking a compensation amounting to EUR 100,000 after a “deepfake pornographic video” was uploaded online.

Meloni will provide her testimony before the court on July 2nd, where she filed a case against two men alleged to have superimposed her face onto pornographic actors' bodies and published the videos on an adult film website in 2020.

Meloni has decided to speak publicly and support victims of pornographic and manipulated material, her lawyer indicated that Meloni will donate any final monetary compensation from the case to the victims of domestic violence fund under the Ministry of Interior.

The “deepfake” video date back to 2022, before her appointment as prime minister.
