The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) arrested 195 people in relation to 109 drug trafficking cases during a one-week period from Jan. 26 until Feb. 1.
The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said that the employees at the AND are continuing their operations to track down all those involved in drug dealing.
The people arrested were referred to the Public Prosecutor of the State Security Court (SSC), including a few people classified as dangerous.
The media spokesperson added that a large quantity of narcotics were seized during the same week including 77 slabs of hashish, 481,727 Captagon pills, 1,500 other kinds of narcotic pills, 1.61 kilograms of crystal meth, 2.5 kilograms of cocaine, 1.2 kilograms of cannabis powder and 500 grams of marijuana, a quantity of marijuana seedlings, and in addition to some weapons.
The media spokesperson stressed that the AND and other relevent authorities will deal firmly with any narcotic-related cases in order to protect the country, citizens and residents.
