The family of the female doctor who ended her life at the Jordan University Hospital issued a statement explaining the details of what happened.

The family of the doctor, later identified as Mirona Asfour, demanded to stop circulating rumors about the causes of their daughter's death.

They said in a statement that Roya received a copy of, that it had received many questions from journalists about her death, noting that some of what was circulated was “untrue.”

The family explained that their daughter, Mirona, was suffering from depression after the death of her mother, especially since Mirona was the only daughter and was very close to her mother, who died before the end of the year 2020, which was shortly before her graduation.

The family pointed out that they had tried everything to help their daughter overcome her depression, calling on everyone to take into consideration what they are going through and give them a space to grieve for their dear daughter, away from rumors and false information.

Her family lastly apologized for not receiving any questions or inquiries from the press.

On Thursday, a resident doctor at the Jordan University Hospital died after jumping from the ninth floor inside the hospital, according to a source close to the investigation.

The source told Roya that the female doctor was a resident in her first year, who had earlier announced her intention to commit suicide on social media.

The source indicated that the doctor jumped from the window of the ninth floor.

Earlier Thursday, authorities announced that the body of a female doctor was found inside the Jordan University Hospital.

The competent security services opened an investigation into the incident.
