77th Indonesian Independence Day Celebration in Amman

The Indonesian Embassy in Amman held a Flag-Raising Ceremony in commemoration of the 77th Independence Day of Indonesia at the Ambassador's Residence in Amman, 17 August 2022.

The ceremony took place solemnly with a limited attendance in accordance with the COVID-19 health protocols. Along with the Embassy staff, the ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Indonesian diaspora in Jordan.

In his remarks, Ambassador Ade Padmo Sarwono conveyed the Government's efforts in addressing challenges and optimizing Indonesia's potential. The Ambassador also encouraged all Indonesians in Jordan to work together and contribute to addressing various challenges in the midst of the current global situation. Ambassador Ade also outlined the Embassy’s activities in the efforts of increasing ties and cooperation between Indonesia and Jordan, as well as efforts in ensuring protection to Indonesian citizens, particularly migrant workers in Jordan.

The ceremony was the main event in commemorating Indonesia's 77th Independence in Jordan. As part of Indonesia’s independence celebration, the Embassy also organized a number of activities such as badminton, table tennis, billiard, bowling and karaoke competitions for Indonesian citizens in Amman.
