Paris City Hall agents distributed water bottles to the homeless, as part of an initiative to help vulnerable people cope with the heat.

Meteo-France, France's meteorological service, reduced the number of departments on orange heatwave alert from 58 to 14.

Paris Deputy Mayor, head of solidarity and the fight against inequality and exclusion, Lea Filoche, said "We have extended the hours of twenty-two reception centers. We have doubled the hours of the professional outreach teams, and we have distributed 10,000 flasks in the last three weeks, which is normally our allocation for the summer. We'll have to work on budgeting for the rest of the summer, and anticipate next summer."

"People are starting to know about this because, unfortunately, temperature drops and rises are more frequent. Reception centers with resources are becoming well known. Unfortunately, as we've seen today, this evening's work is not enough. We need more places that can welcome people during the day and evening," Filoche said.
