Shooter of former Japanese Prime Minister confesses

Friday, Japanese police announced that the man suspected of assassinating former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe confessed to the murder.

The suspect, who is a 41-year-old unemployed man called Tetsuya Yamagamito, told the police that he used an improvised firearm.

A police officer had told reporters, “This is what the suspect has confirmed, and we have come to the conclusion that it (the rifle) is clearly handmade. The investigations are continuing.”
