His Majesty King Abdullah II expressed his sadness and shock over the loss of the former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in a “heinous attack” that caused His Majesty to lose “a true friend.”

His Majesty said in a tweet on his official account on Twitter: “Profoundly shocked and saddened over the loss of my dear friend former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo in this heinous attack.”

“The world lost a great leader, and Jordan and I lost a true friend,” he added.

“Our deepest condolences to his family, and the people and government of Japan,” he added.
