The Palestinian Minister of Health Mai Al-Kaila announced Monday that Palestine has entered the sixth wave of the coronavirus pandemic, noting that the epidemiological situation has “become worrying.”

Kaila said that there is a significant increase in the number of COVID-19 infections and hospital admissions. On Sunday, around 1,000 coronavirus infections were recorded in the occupied West Bank alone.

She called on Palestinians to adhere to wearing face masks, especially in indoor areas, mosques, churches, restaurants, and wedding halls.

She also called for the necessity of taking the first, second, third, and fourth doses of the coronavirus vaccine, especially for the elderly and those who suffer from chronic diseases.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Palestine has confirmed 584,243 cases and 5,356 deaths.
