Friday, the father of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Dr. Faisal Sidqi Al-Yasin, passed away.

Dr. Faisal Al-Yasin was born in the Palestinian city of Tulkarm in 1934, and finished high school there before moving to Egypt to study medicine at Cairo University and then going on years later to specialize in surgery and pediatrics in Northern Ireland.

In 1961, he moved to Kuwait after obtaining a job in the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, to shortly afterwards open his own clinic as one of the first Arab doctors to obtain a license.

After thirty years of practicing medicine, he returned to Jordan to retire and settle there before passing away on Friday, May 27, 2022.
