Saturday, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health for Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases, Raed Al-Shboul, said that no particular measures will be taken to detect Monkeypox for those arriving to or leaving from airports in Jordan.

Shboul confirmed to Roya that no case has been recorded in Jordan as of May 21, indicating that although this infection is transmitted from one person to another through direct contact and bodily fluids, there is still a chance that the infection will reach Jordan.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Health has activated active monitoring in centers and hospitals to monitor any strange or unknown "skin rash" in order to isolate those cases.

Shboul added that the cases were recorded in several European countries that did not have any travel history to African countries, in which monkeypox is considered endemic.
