The Northern Military Region thwarted Saturday evening an attempt to infiltrate and smuggle quantities of weapons and ammunition.

An official military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) - the Arab Army said that the rules of engagement were applied, which led to the smugglers fleeing back, and after searching the area, large quantities of weapons and ammunition were seized and transferred to the competent authorities.

The source stressed that the JAF will deal firmly with any infiltration or smuggling attempt in order to protect the citizens and the security of the Kingdom's borders.
