Wednesday, Saudi Ambassador Walid Al-Bukhari arrived in Beirut to meet the President of the Lebanese Republic, Michel Aoun, at Baabda Palace.

During his meeting with Aoun, Al-Bukhari affirmed Saudi Arabia's keenness to help the Lebanese people in difficult circumstances.

The Saudi ambassador was briefed on the mechanism of the Saudi-French joint fund dedicated to humanitarian support and achieving stability and development in Lebanon.

Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Saudi Arabia announced the return of the Kingdom’s ambassador to Lebanon.

This comes in response to the “calls and appeals of moderate national political forces in Lebanon, and in confirmation of the Lebanese prime minister’s statement of the government’s commitment to take the necessary and required measures to enhance cooperation with the Kingdom and Gulf Cooperation Council countries and to stop all political, military, and security activities affecting the Kingdom and GCC countries,” according to Saudi Press Agency.
