Monday, a member of the Scientific Committee to Combat the Coronavirus in Tunisia, Amin Salim, said that the number of those wishing to receive the third dose of the vaccine did not reach the level that would encourage the government to lift COVID-19 restrictions.

A medical source said that Tunisian authorities are not considering completely lifting the restrictions imposed due to the current COVID-19 situation in the country.

The source indicated that the number of recipients of the third dose is currently about 1.2 million, adding that a total of 6,301,481 received the first dose, while around 4.6 million received the second dose.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Tunisia has confirmed 986,336 cases and 27,448 deaths.
