A video posted on social media showed the efforts made by the Moroccan authorities to rescue a five-year-old child, later identified as Rayan, who fell into a deep well in northern Morocco.

Rayan fell into a 62-meter well, in the village of Agran in the Chefchaouen province, in northern Morocco.

The Moroccan authorities used advanced tools to search for the child, such as a camera that was inserted into the well.

The difficulty of the rescue operation comes due to the narrowness of the well.

Rescue operations are still ongoing.

Moroccan media outlets said earlier that the child Rayan fell into the well on Wednesday morning, in the absence of his parents.

They confirmed that Rayan is alive, stuck at a depth of 35 meters in the well.

They lastly noted that he had suffered minor injuries to the head.
