The National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) carried out a safety drill in the event of houses flooding in Aqaba, in addition to suffocation and gas leakage cases that could occur in Aqaba schools.

A number of security and government agencies participated in the exercise, most notably the Civil Defense Directorate (CDD).

A drill titled "Path to Safety" was conducted earlier Monday by the NCSCM, in cooperation with various state institutions, armed forces and security agencies.

The three-day exercise will simulate expected real-life scenarios in Amman and its suburbs, Irbid, Karak, Aqaba, Wadi Mujib and Petra, with the aim of evaluating the operational and safety measures prepared to deal with all forms of crises by the state's institutions.

Security measures with rescue and evacuation operations will be implemented during the drill, in addition to launching warning sirens.

Notably, a safety drill is a drill that is practised to prepare people for an emergency.
