'The issue has turned into a matter of dignity': Kordahi

Tuesday, the Lebanese Minister of Information, George Kordahi, came out with new statements about the crisis with Saudi Arabia, denying his attachment to a position or job.

Kordahi said, in an interview with the Lebanese newspaper, Al-Diyar, that he “is waiting for Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, to return from the Glasgow summit to come up with an agreed decision,” stressing that he is fully aware and feels for the suffering of the Lebanese abroad and their fear of any action that may affect them.

He added that right now “the issue has turned into a matter of national dignity,” saying: “I am not attached to a position or a job, but the issue has gone beyond that to dignity.”

He continued, “When the prime minister returns, he may have new data after the meetings he is currently holding,” he said that then both will “sit down and take a decision in light of the new information that he may have.”

Regarding all the accusations against him about “Kordahi owes all his success to the Gulf countries,” the Lebanese Minister of Information said that he worked hard to get to where he is and his success was due to his “work and fatigue.”
