The head of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq said Monday that cafes licensed by the concerned authorities are now allowed to serve shisha indoors, provided that the shisha or any type of tobacco are not offered to anyone under the age of 18.

Haj Tawfiq confirmed that facilities that wish to offer shisha in indoor areas, must comply with a set of conditions prepared by the Ministry of Labor and approved by the Ministry of Health.

He stressed that these conditions include the facility’s commitment to sign a pledge to take precautionary and preventive measures in accordance with the requirements and protocols issued by the Ministry of Labor, those working in the facilities must be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, or have received one dose of the vaccine and have not missed their appointment to receive the second dose, or bring a negative PCR test that is valid for 72 hours every Sunday and Thursday.
