Monday, the spokesperson for the Ministry Of Awqaf And Islamic Affairs, Hossam Al-Hiyari, said that the ministry is in contact with the health authorities, to review the health procedures enforced inside mosques.

Al-Hiyari stressed that, so far, there has been no change to the current procedures.

Local media reported on Monday morning that rules might be eased such as social distancing between worshipers inside mosques.

The reports noted that there is a study conducted by the Ministry to cancel the distance between worshipers, and coordination will be made with the Ministry of Health regarding this in order to take the appropriate decision.

The decision of the authorities depends on the COVID-19 situation in Jordan, and the recommendation will then be submitted for approval by the Council of Ministers to be implemented.
