95 percent of COVID-19 infections in Jordan are with Delta strain: Belbisi

Tuesday, the Secretary-General of Epidemiological Affairs at the Ministry of Health Adel Al-Belbisi told Roya’s Nabd Albalad that the coronavirus vaccine does not prevent from getting infected with the virus, however, it protects the individual from experiencing severe symptoms.

Belbisi added that 95 percent of the COVID-19 infections in Jordan are with the Delta strain.

Additionally, he indicated that 90 percent of coronavirus infections in Jordan are among those unvaccinated.

Tuesday, Jordan recorded six deaths and 1,042 new coronavirus cases.
