Thursday evening, armed confrontations occurred after a group of wanted individuals used missiles in the face of an army search campaign in a Lebanese town near Baalbek.

A town east of Baalbek was raided, in search of wanted persons, then moved to the town of Brital, where clashes erupted in the town, interspersed with shooting and shelling, according to reports by Lebanese media.

Initial information indicates that the town was raided after GPS determined a van the armed group stole from a humanitarian association was inside the town, after which the signal moved to Brital and the army followed it.

The wanted individuals confronted the army force with a missile.

An Egyptian news website reported that “a large scale raid operation” was carried out by an army force and it arrested “a number of wanted persons.”
