Virus will turn into seasonal illness that needs annual vaccination: Minister of Health

Minister of Health Dr. Feras Al-Hawari said Monday on Roya's Nabd al Balad that the rate of herd immunity in Jordan has reached 74 percent, allowing for a stable epidemiological situation. 

Al-Hawari indicated that the Ministry of Health is considering giving a third booster dose of the Corona vaccine to everyone in the future, stressing that all vaccines used in Jordan are based on local studies.

Al-Hawari said the virus will remain with us and will often turn into a seasonal illness that needs annual vaccination. 

Regarding the return of face-to-face education, Al-Hawari said that all measures have been taken to ensure a safe return, such as vaccinating teachers, preparing classrooms and performing rapid random examinations.

He noted that students with symptoms should not go to school, and that parents should receive the vaccine so that the infection is not transmitted to them after the opening of schools.
