Greek police on the island of Crete announced Saturday that they have arrested seven people suspected of breaking into the residence of Pakistani migrant workers on Wednesday and severely beating them.

Police said in a statement that seven Greeks from the Lasithi district of Crete will be prosecuted for assault, property damage, theft and illegal possession of weapons.

Wednesday, they are suspected of breaking into a house where 13 migrants workers live, then beating them, smashing furniture and stealing money.

The local media "Kretaliev" said that most of the victims had left the hospital, where they received first aid, but two of them needed him to complete their treatment for more serious injuries.
