Saturday, Spain extended until August 27 a 10-day quarantine imposed on arrivals from six countries in Africa and Latin America that were greatly affected by Covid-19, the Ministry of Health announced on Saturday.

It is the second time this procedure is extended.

Passengers arriving in Spain from South Africa, Namibia, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and Colombia must self-quarantine for 10 days.

These six countries are considered "high risk" because of the high rate of cases in them.

The coronavirus has so far killed more than 82,000 people in Spain, where 4.5 million people have also been infected.

More than sixty percent of the population is now fully vaccinated against the epidemic.
