The Mexican ambassador in Amman, Roberto Rodriguez Hernandez, said that his country views Jordan as a stable country and a gateway to the Middle East through which it can access the region's markets and enhance cooperation with it.

He added, in a press conference held on Sunday, that the main goal is to promote Mexico as a bridge between Jordan and North and Latin America, and at the same time promote Jordan as a bridge to the region. Mexico is working to increase understanding between the two countries, including teaching Spanish in Jordan and Arabic in Mexico.

He indicated that the largest proportion of the population of Mexico and Jordan are young people, and therefore it is necessary to promote greater understanding and rapprochement between these groups.

He stressed that the embassy will support holding business seminars, as well as facilitating links between Mexican and Jordanian businessmen, and encouraging universities to participate in trade missions, when mobility is permitted.

Relations between Mexico and Jordan began more than 45 years ago, and rapprochement took place in many areas, and in 2015 the Mexican Embassy in Jordan was opened, with the aim of strengthening cooperation, rapprochement and distinguished relations between the two countries.
