Nine killed after skydiving plane crashes in Sweden

Thursday night, nine people were killed after a small plane carrying skydivers crashed outside the Swedish town of Orebro, according to police.

Police added that the dead included the pilot and eight passengers.

Carl-Johan Linde, a spokesperson of the Swedish Maritime Administration, which oversees air traffic, told broadcaster SVT the crash must have occurred “in connection” with the plane's takeoff.

The Swedish Accident Investigation Authority sent a team to the the accident site outside Orebro.

Investigations into the incident have been launched.
