The Bangladesh Embassy in Jordan organized a seminar and a cultural program Tuesday.

Jordanian government officials, journalists and Jordanian dignitaries were present at the glittering event held at the Fair Mont Hotel in Amman.

At the beginning of the program, Ambassador Nahida Sobhan welcomed the guests and gave a short speech. He said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh, dreamed of a "Golden Bengal".

The golden Bengal he dreamed of was a country free from hunger, poverty, illiteracy and communalism. The achievements of today's Bangladesh on the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence are recognized globally.

Today, Bangladesh is being considered as a "role model" of development in various fields including education, health, agriculture, information, technology, women's empowerment, etc. under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the able daughter of Bangabandhu. She informed that Bangladesh's garment export ranks second in the world. Bangladesh is now self-sufficient in food and fish production. No one dies of hunger there.

She added that it has been possible to lift six million people out of poverty since 2010. Bangladesh has already successfully achieved the MDG targets and is currently committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Bangladesh has adopted Delta Plan-2100 to build itself as the most developed country in the next century.

Bangladesh has been able to achieve a positive growth in its GDP even during the COVID-19 period. Bangladesh is now seeking to strengthen its close economic ties with other countries. As Bangladesh is urging all to increase investment in its own country, at the same time Bangladesh is also considering to invest in other countries.

As a “Development Miracle” Bangladesh welcomes everyone to be its economic partner.

The guests present at the seminar expressed their positive views on Bangladesh and wished success to the progress of Bangladesh. They lauded the leadership of Bangladesh and said that competent leadership is an essential priority for the development of a state. The economic development of Bangladesh is the result of right direction of the leadership of Bangladesh and the sincere efforts of the peoples of Bangladesh.

Various Bangladeshi products were exhibited at the venue. The guests visited the Bangladeshi products and expressed their views on the issue. At the end of the seminar, a colorful virtual cultural program and videos on Bangladesh were shown. The virtual cultural program depicted and presented by Bangladesh's 'Srishti Cultural Group' received wide acclamation from the audiences.

At the end of the ceremony, the guests were entertained and various Bangladeshi products were given as gifts.
