British Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned Saturday that Britain would "not hesitate" to suspend provisions of a post-Brexit deal regulating trade in Northern Ireland if the European Union did not show flexibility.

After tense talks with the bloc's leaders, Johnson told Sky News, "If the protocol continues to be applied in this way, we will not hesitate to apply Article 16" of the agreement on Northern Ireland, which allows for some measures to be skipped.
