JFDA approves Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use

The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) approved the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use, according to Alghad Newspaper.

This makes Moderna the sixth vaccine to get approved in the Kingdom after the Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Sputnik V and Johnshon and Johnson vaccines.

Jordan began its national vaccination campaign, using the Pfizer-BioNTech and Sinopharm vaccines on Jan. 13.

Since the beginning of the national vaccination campaign, more than 1.7 million people received the first dose of the vaccine, while approximately 587,000 received the second dose.
