Wednesday, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) announced it will prevent any truck from entering Aqaba beginning mid-June, unless the driver has received the first dose of a coronavirus vaccine "as a minimum."

In turn, the Chairman of the Council of Commissioners at ASEZA, Nayef Bakhit, said in a press statement that this decision runs in line with the national efforts to limit the spread of the virus and the comprehensive plan established to transform the Aqaba region into a safe area from the pandemic across all of its sectors.

He called on transport companies and freight drivers coming to Aqaba to register on the coronavirus vaccination platform of the Ministry of Health, based on the government's plan aimed at achieving a safe summer.
