The British government has spent almonst $850 million in 2020 on tanks that cannot shoot while moving.

Additionally, the UK Ministry of Defense stated it paid $816 million in 2020 and 2021 towards new 'Ajax light tanks,' which brings the total expenditure on the vehicles to $4.5 billion.

In 2010, a 589-tank deal was signed, but issues arose in 2019 when the US manufacturer General Dynamics - who was two years late on the initial delivery date - found issues with their tanks.

Experts found that "safety issues" with the tanks, including excessive vibrations that prevented cannons from being fired while mobile.

The British army refused to accept the tanks yet more than half of the total bill has been handed over.

Members of parliament and retired army members rejected the "cruddiness of the situation," which has resulted in the British Army using tanks from the 70s.

In statements, the defense ministry said, "We are committed to the Ajax program," noting that General Dynamics are paid in accordance to strict measures and guidelines.
