Wednesday, The Correction and Rehabilitation Centers Administration continued their campaign to vaccinate inmates against COVID-19. A total of 2,000 inmates have been inoculated so far, after they were registered on the national platform for vaccinations, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM).

The Correction and Rehabilitation Centers Administration indicated they will continue to follow up on vaccinating inmates during the coming period, until all inmates are immune.

The required immunity of inmates is in line with the protection protocol that has been activated since the start of the pandemic and will continue in full force, said the administration.

They noted that they have succeeded in making their centers among the institutions least affected by the pandemic, citing the low rate of infections among inmates.

On the other hand, despite the circumstances the pandemic has posed, the administration was keen to bring the holy month's spirit into their centers, as part of their annual plan associated with Ramadan.

This included providing inmates with opportunities to communicate with their families, through visits or phone calls.

The administration stressed that the aforementioned plan remained in line with set health protocols to prevent COVID-19 infections.

They also implemented a number of activities in various centers, such as theatrical performances, cultural competitions, competitions for memorizing the Holy Qur’an, and several other cultural and sports programs.
