The strategic reserve of blood in Irbid Governorate decreased by 50 percent due to the nightly curfew and fasting during Ramadan.

The director of the blood bank in the governorate of Irbid, Dr. Nawal Khatatbeh, indicated that the blood bank supplies hospitals in all northern regions, including Princess Badia Hospital and seven private hospitals in the governorate, and provides the entire northern region with blood components such as platelets and plasma.

She indicated that the blood bank has taken measures, in cooperation with the Irbid Health Directorate, to alleviate the shortage in the bank, such as providing transportation for donors during the curfew.

External campaigns that were being held in community institutions to donate blood have been stopped for months, due to the pandemic.
