The Social Security Corporation Saturday clarified the truth about what has been rumored about compensation for those infected with coronavirus from the medical sector.

The spokesman for the foundation, Shaman Al-Majali, said in a statement to Roya that if it is proven that a medical sector employee was infected with the virus during their work, the infection is considered a workplace injury.

Al-Majali added that if the worker proves he/she was infected in the workplace, he/she will be referred to Social Security, but will not receive compensation.

Compensation is only received in the event of an accidental death.

Al-Majali stressed that everyone who is infected, enters the quarantine period and is recovering, will not receive any compensation.
